Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI)

A market for trading financial securities (stocks and bonds), commodities ( metals or agricultural products) and other permitted items is called a Financial Market. The features of financial markets are

1. Low transaction cost
2. Price that is a true reflection of supply and demand.

Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) is the regulator of securities market in India. SEBI was established on 12th April 1988. SEBI, which has its headquarters in Mubai was given statutory powers in 1992 by passing SEBI Act 1992.
